Visa Intelligent Commerce

Visa’s agent-commerce wrapping: a tokenized card with user instructions. The shared design with x402 and MPP is policy-plus-envelope spending; the rails differ.

Problem
Let software spend under a human-set budget using tokenized card credentials rather than a seed phrase in a prompt.
How payment or discovery works
The human sets a budget and allowed counterparties. The agent spends inside that envelope. Settlement is a card token rather than a crypto-native 402.

Evidence of adoption
Visa Developer documentation for agent commerce. Complementary to, not the same as, x402 or MPP.

Agent wallets converge on stablecoins plus policy limits

Across Visa Intelligent Commerce, x402 and MPP, the shared design is: the human sets a budget and allowed counterparties; the agent spends inside that envelope; settlement is a stable unit or a card token. The protocols disagree on rail, not on the control problem.
